About Us
Designed in 2002, The Sunyata Group works in the ''intersection'' of effectiveness (human relationships & information) and efficiency (process & technology) to optimize individual and organization value, performance, wellness, and contribution.
The Sunyata Group is dedicated to the work of:
The Sunyata Group provides products and services in the areas of integral wellness, integral education, integral leadership, integral spirituality, and integral logistics — to manifest generative and healthy individuals, organizations, and communities. It exercises business and political savvy to apply insights regarding green economy optimization services (GEOS) to: initiate, analyze, design, develop, support, and/or deliver programs, projects, consultations, services, and products to address extinction-level issues, high-leverage, and/or high-impact problems such as — global climate change, pandemics, basic healthcare and wellness, warfare, famine, obesity, potable water shortage, aging populations, energy crises, ecosystem degradation, pollution, etc. For the Sunyata Group, the “sweet spot” is the intersection of effectiveness (human relationships & information) and efficiency (process & technology) — where optimal productivity, innovation, and sustainability are achieved. Effectiveness (Human Relationships | Information): Effectiveness is herein defined as producing a decided, decisive, and/or desired result in terms of tangible benefits produced by the effort expended — in such a way as to avoid loss or waste of energy in effecting, producing, or functioning. Human Relationships — “H-S-L” Practice of “Compassion” The “H-S-L” (Heard | Seen | Loved) Practice is a life legacy practice that provides a diagnostic and response approach for developing sympathy, empathy, and compassion. It places attention squarely on intentionally manifesting conditioning experiences that stimulate activation of multiple intelligences in ways that cultivate compassion and invite engagement in experiments that increase compassion in everyday life. The “H-S-L” Practice addresses the domains of Self, Others, Collectives, and Ecosystems. Self (Intrapersonal) — Individual | Personal “H-S-L” for the “Self” addresses the individual’s issues about “survival” in terms of physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or spiritual experiences — transforming “Rage to Compassion”, and landing the understanding that “I am loved”. Other (Interpersonal) — Individual | Interpersonal “H-S-L” for “Others” addresses the individual’s issues about “survival” in terms of the one-to-one experience of relationships between people —transforming “Despair to Hope”, and landing the understanding that “I am not alone, and you are not alone”. Collectives (Intrapersonal) — Gatherings | Organization | Community | Nations “H-S-L” for “Collectives” (Gatherings — assemblages — congregations | Organizations — groups — teams — families | Communities — villages — tribes — neighborhoods | Nations — leagues — federations — states, . . . ) addresses the collective’s (organization) issues about “survival” in terms of the individual and collective experience of “relevance” — transforming “Irrelevance to Relevance”, and landing the understanding that “I, you, and we are valued”. Ecosystems (Environment) — Local | Regional | Global “H-S-L” for the “Ecosystems” addresses the individual and collective issues about “survival” in terms of “extinction” — transforming “Extinction to Generativity”, and landing the understanding that there is systemic interconnectedness and continuity, and that “all things are interconnected”. Information (Meaning) Information is herein defined as an attribute inherent in and communicated as determining and representing the “meaning” of objects and their associated inferences. This work uses a taxonomy that represents the directed evolving state (complexity) of meaning structures. The goal of information optimization is to increase the levels of “meaning” by driving from lower states to higher states of meaning structures. Efficiency (Process & Technology): Efficiency is herein defined as producing a result without waste — as measured by a comparison of production with cost (as in energy, time, and money). Process — A “Process” is a series of actions or operations (steps), followed in a regular definite order (procedure), conducing to an end. This work employs a large-scale “Process Optimization” approach based on “Lean Analysis” to identify and eliminate Waste (Defects | Transportation | Overproduction | Time | Processing | Movement | Inventory) and based on “Theory of Constraints Analysis” to identify and eliminate Constraints (Physical | Policy | People-related) through an organized approach (Five “S”) to sorting, simplifying, sweeping, standardizing, self-disciplining. The small-scale “Process Optimization” approach uses the identification, organization, and management of the relationships between people, processes, and information. Technology — “Technology” is the systematic practical application of knowledge and skill to accomplish a task. This work identifies, develops, integrates, and uses small- and large-scale tools in the form of models, processes (manual and automated), methods, and devices to accomplish optimization of human relationships, information, and processes. The Sunyata Group — "Sweet Spot" ![]() Working within the intersection of effectiveness (human relationships & information) and efficiency (process & technology) is a cultural transformation process. Success is defined as the emergence of individuals and organizations that function as sustainable communities and embrace the following values and practices:
The “Treatment Phase” applies approaches to optimize human relationships, information, and processes to facilitate the: reduction of resistance to change in individuals and organizations; empowerment of participants; elimination of systems’ constraints, thus increasing the throughput (output) of the system (TOC); establishment of high-performance teams focused on identifying and eliminating waste from systems, through continuous improvement and thus adding value (Lean). The “Follow-Up Phase” helps to establish continuous process improvement and cultural development — as a way of life for individuals and organizations. Value Proposition The purpose of this work is to optimize individual and organization value, performance, wellness, and contribution. The “sweet spot” is the intersection of effectiveness (human relationships & information) and efficiency (process & technology) — where optimal productivity, innovation, and sustainability are achieved. The ''Value Contribution'' (benefits) of this approach manifests as results:
