Founded in 2007, Green Economy Optimization Services (GEOS) is a major initiative of all of the organizations within The Sunyata Group. GEOS provides management, integration, and operations (M&I) Green Economy consulting services as a strategic thinking partner to non-profit and for-profit organizations. Our services focus on the discovery and/or development and implementation of commercial and non-profit business models and opportunities to create a Green Economy as a human ecology that satisfies our economic, social justice, environmental, and spiritual aspirations.

Our purpose is to architect and collaboratively implement a social movement that transforms individual and collective "Consciousness", lifestyles, practices, processes, policies, and technology — from a "Consumer" orientation to an economic "Net Provider" of food, energy, water, and wellness. Use this approach to optimize the efficient and effective addressing of extinction-level and/or critical issues — with a community-centered focus, and with compassion as the “business practice”.

Our ''vision'' is to manifest a positive future and an authentic positive image of that future — by educating our populations and providing them with credible social and economic opportunities to be fully and generatively creative participants in the world. We envision a healthy world where everyone feels heard, seen, and loved — and where everyone has a developed capacity to hear, see, and love themselves, each other, and the whole of creation.

Our ''mission'' is to focus on optimizing social and economic capacity to meet basic human, material, and natural needs — by serving the underserved in ways that engage and support the well-being of all.

Our ''goal'' is to create practices, systems, and businesses: that are ecologically-sound and economically viable; which provide for their own needs; do not exploit or pollute; develop the capacity and experience for humans to hear, see, and love themselves, each other, and the Earth; and are therefore sustainable and generative in the long term. Such practices and systems must: do no harm, do much good, and operate out of models of “Stewardship”.

We are effective and efficient strategic partners for addressing "Green" performance audit issues, and organizational policy, practice, systems, and delivery. GEOS is a service provider of Green Economy: operations and process optimization consulting; research and informatics services; management coaching and mentoring; public speaking; personal, organizational, and leadership development and transformation; and health and wellness consulting. GEOS leverages its multi-cultural perspectives, insights, and tools to achieve breakthrough results in its endeavors. GEOS is about generating a “collaborative human ecology” within the Cascadia Bio-region — by manifesting diverse, resilient, and conscious individuals and organizations operating within the framework of a common learning community of practice. GEOS is grounded in sustainable patterns of activity in the human, material, and natural worlds. The collaborative human ecology of the community will integrate the shared interests, objectives, and standards that produce effective and efficient policy and action towards the shared “higher purpose” of environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic vitality for all participants ''within one generation''.

We define this “collaborative human ecology” as a complex human system exhibiting emergent and coherent properties that: uses patterns; looks at a whole system or problem; sees connections between key elements (parts); observes how the parts relate; and “mends” sick systems by applying reusable patterns from long-term sustainable working systems.

This “collaborative human ecology” amplifies the multiple intelligences of diverse asset-resources in the same “space” — as with diverse natural ecosystems — avoiding cultural exclusivity and isolationism, or monoculture. It emphasizes leadership capacity development; parallel and iterative initiatives, innovations, and implementations; inter-organizational teams; strategic partnerships and funding; beneficial conflict modalities; and practices, processes, and technology that can be successfully continued into the indefinite future. Success is measured by the sustainability of the individual, social, and ecological health of the community — and by the demonstrated capacity of the participants to hear, see, and love themselves, each other, and the whole of creation.

Organization of the “collaborative human ecology” design elements is based on characteristics, capabilities, frequency of use, and potential relationships between the asset-resources. Each design element and each asset-resource is carefully analyzed in terms of its needs, outputs, and properties. As with Lean Manufacturing, design elements are then assembled in relation to one another so that the products of one element feed the needs of adjacent elements. Synergy between design elements is achieved while minimizing the waste of, and optimizing the use of labor, energy, and/or time.

Working through the operational organizations of the Sunyata Group, GEOS designs and implements scaleable and reusable “collaborative human ecologies” by initiating and/or delivering Green Economy-oriented consulting services, optimization programs, projects, services, and products to address extinction-level issues and solutions using Green Economy frameworks.
